Alta R56 Front Mount Intercooler Mini Cooper S 07+
The Alta Mini Performance Front Mount Intercooler (FMIC) for the 2007+ R56 Mini Cooper S is a huge upgrade, designed to get more power from the 1.6L engine. The Alta bar and plate core FMIC is 3x bigger than the stock Cooper S intercooler but does not have the increase in turbo lag commonly associated with larger intercoolers. Alta has seen intercooler outlet temps decrease as much as 50 F degrees, which allows the boosted motor to create an additional 15 HP and 20 ft-lb torque! Alta has also improved the core pressure. The puny stock alta r56 fmic intercooler intercooler looses 2.2 psi while the new Alta FMIC only drops 1.5 psi!.
If you intend on upgrading your R56's turbo, this FMIC is a must! If you just want more power from your Cooper S, this front mount is a must. Basically, get this intercooler and get more power from your Mini--and we all know more power = more fun!
