William Fletcher won the 4th Annual Northwest National Diesel Drag Championships at Pacific International Raceway in Seattle Washington for the 3rd time on September 16th.
“My 12 valve Cummins 1995 Dodge Diesel pick-up truck is currently the fastest street legal diesel in the world,” said Fletcher. I use K&N Oil Filter (HP-4003), and K&N's FIPK. I had excellent air flow because of the FIPK which allowed my huge diesel turbo to spool freely. This enabled my engine to perform at its maximum horse power to win the 2006 Nationals.”
Fletcher uses K&N’s 57- Series Fuel Injection Performance Kit 57-1525. At K&N Engineering, dynamometer test show a 9.17 horsepower increase @ 2560RPM for the 1995 Dodge Ram 5.9L.
“My best time in 2006 is 9.92 at 139 mph,” said Fletcher. “My record was 10.13 at 137mph in 2005.”
The NHRDA (National Hot Rod Diesel Association) racer bought his first diesel as a work truck four years ago. “I wanted to get into racing,” said Fletcher. “I was intrigued by the power a diesel could hold. I use K&N because of the outstanding performance the products provide.”
